The Beginning of the End

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, non-binary friends and my great aunt Barb. Welcome, to the beginning of the end. I’ve been enrolled in college since the fall of 2013, and I’m finally standing on the threshold of the rest of my life. Two semesters are all that stand between myself and freedom, and as such I’ve been given a bit of freedom in my courses.

How To Be a Designer is a course that I’ve built for myself, filled with readings, blogging and designs. As I progress through this course I intend to keep a record of my time investment and help teach other aspiring designers what I’ve learned, perhaps I can really help somebody.

My goals in this are all tailored to help in my professional life post-gradution. Firstly, I need to become more familiar with my design pace, and train myself to work within specific time constraints. I also want to start implementing intentional breaks so I can step back and make sure I’m still communicating what I set out to. Not to mention making sure I’m incorporating illustration tactics in my designs so I can clearly convey a specific narrative.

I’m really excited to be doing this and hope to continuously learn and grow, from both my own research and the feedback that I can only hope to receive from you!!
